1. We care! – Ohpana Discovery Tours top goal is to make this vacation your best!  Our attention to detail and desire to go above and beyond your expectations makes us your perfect choice.

2.  Beautiful weather!  – The southern state of Quintana Roo has gorgeous, warm weather all year round.  It´s perfect for checking out the sites and taking a swim.

3.  New house! – Our accommodations are brand spankin´new!  New beds, furniture, appliances  – well new everything!  We´re confident you´ll feel more than at home while enjoying your stay. Remember “mi casa es tu casa”.

4. Mayan ruins! – There are soooooooooo many different sites to check out during your stay including many that are off the beaten path. Local guides are more than happy to share a full history of the sites with you.  What better way to spend your day than wandering the often forested areas looking at ancient pyramids and ruins?

5.  Lakes, Cenotes and Rivers! – Take a dip or just enjoy the view at the many lakes and cenotes in the area.  The largest lake, Bacalar, is a truly amazing site.  It´s so hard to believe the intense 7 shades of green blue  are fresh water!  Join locals at an off the road  river to cool off and be carried by the current.

6.  Delicious Food! – All this activity will be sure to stir up your appetite.  Count on super fresh and creatively prepared seafood dishes, local treats and lots of fruit!  Thirsty? Try a michelada or one of many different waters flavoured with fruit.  In the evenings enjoy a Marquesita (mmm melted cheese in a crunchy crepe like shell…) or tacos in the city square.

7.  Get in shape! – If getting more exercise is one of your goals, join us for early morning or evening jogs or powerwalks along the boardwalk.  Running by the ocean is so refreshing!

8. Snorkeling! – Try out snorkeling at the coral reef in Mahahual.  How many fish and sea creatures can you spot?  Spend the afternoon discovering the reef and sharing with friends.

9. Kayaking! – Many lakes and beaches offer an opportunity to paddle around.  See birds and vegetation up close while practicing a fun sport.

10.  Local homes! – Be invited to join a local family for a meal and be able to see how folks in the area really live.  Interested in more of this sort of thing?  Visits to local schools, churches, clubs, and farms can definitely be arranged.

What do you think?

Hi folks!

I want to remind you to not be shy and leave us a comment now and again.  We´d love to hear what you think of the blog and ways we might improve.  Also any questions you might have about the area would be great!

Keep in mind as well  that we divide our time between Mexico City and Chetumal so if you´re ever in D.F.  and would like some help in finding your way around or visiting sites in the surrounding area, let us know!

Enjoy this beautiful and very rainy (well here in the city!) weekend!
